4th Annual Mushroom Festival! We are breaking a World Record!

Get ready for this year’s mushroom festivities!

Kyriakides Mushrooms and Spilia community present the 4th Annual Mushroom Festival! At the picturesque mountain of Troodos, among the pine trees and beautiful forests, the small community of Spilia has established an annual festival dedicated to our favourite super food: MUSHROOMS!

This year the Mushroom Fest will be so mush bigger and better than ever before, in a bigger, multi-level space by the village church. Get ready to witness big things and even bigger crowds!

The 2-day fest will take place over the weekend of the 19th and 20th of November, over two days filled with wonderful activities, mouth-watering delicacies and big surprises all day long! Opening times will be:
Saturday 19/11/22: 10:30 – 19:00
Sunday 20/11/22: 11:00 – 18:00

On Saturday morning, around 11:00 am, we’ll let our inner chef loose and we’ll slice, dice and prepare a literal tonne of mushrooms for the giant mushroom surprise that will follow.

Throughout the day our younger friends will be entertained at the kids corner with bouncy castles, face painting, treasure hunts around the village and other educational activities.

The Cyprus Chefs Association will prepare wow mushroom – street-food style delicacies – such as mushroom gyros, mushroom soup, bao-buns and delicious mushroom pasta! You will also be able to enjoy refreshing drinks, and take part in traditional dancing and singing and many, many more!

On Saturday we will have our main event! We are aiming to squash the World Record for the biggest serving of sauteed mushrooms, using a whopping 1000 kilo of mushrooms in a gigantic saucepan with a 4m diameter! Yes, you read that right! It is as wide as the height of two basketball players standing one on top of the other!!

During the afternoon of both days, we will organise a forest-walk in order to learn how to collect wild mushrooms while respecting nature at the same time.
